SR2 Link
Secure Helpdesk Platform
Our secure digital helpdesk platform, Link, is a customised and security-first version of Zammad, an open source, flexible, multi-channel ticketing platform that enables those in need to ask for help, and providers to respond.
Link helpdesks come already set up with popular messaging apps, including Signal, WhatsApp, and Telegram, making it easier to securely request assistance.
All messaging services can be customised to fit your brand.
All helpdesks are deployed and managed with security in mind, from infrastructure to the android device that allows messaging application integration.
Link also allows you to visualise how many people you’ve helped, across which areas, and track the impact you're making across months and years.
What do you get?
- An available, responsive helpdesk, running on its own high-spec dedicated virtual machine
- A selection of communication channels: Email, Web chat, Telegram, Signal, Whatsapp, and Deltachat (coming soon), so that you can meet your users where are.
- An included fully managed Android device and phone line for use with the messaging service channels, with audited configuration and regular reviews.
- Security and peace of mind: the helpdesk is deployed following industry security standards, and is regularly updated and reviewed. The helpdesk software is also audited, and your data is backed up daily.
- Support and advice: A dedicated support line for any issues, as well as expert advice backed by several years of experience on tailoring the platform for civil rights defenders and civil society workflows. We will help you get the most out of your helpdesk platform for your organisational needs and workflows.
Is it right for you?
Link was developed primarily for digital security support organisations and collectives who are providing support to human rights defenders, activists, journalists, and other civil society groups.
It has been primarily adopted as a privacy- and security-focused helpdesk, and has been used by groups who are collecting and sharing information related to threat intelligence, human rights abuses, disinformation, and other monitoring efforts.
Our story
SR2 is a secure software and communications services organisation that specialises in designing secure, resilient communications infrastructure for clients in government, news media, and civil society. Our story starts in 2020, when we started collaborating with Tor Project and Guardian project, after many years of volunteering in the Internet Freedom space for various open source projects.
We are still very active in the Internet Freedom space today and believe in producing and maintaining open-source software. We strongly believe that open source software is the best way to approach the technical needs of civil society organisations. Since 2021, we have worked with the Centre for Digital Resilience, the original home of the Link helpdesk, to deploy and provide day-to-day support across their global user community. As CDR is sunsetting their operations at the end of 2026 we have become the new home for the Link helpdesks, and we are just as committed to continue providing secure technology solutions that help safeguard human rights.
Since 2026, SR2 is also part of CiviCERT, a network whose aim is to foster collaboration and resilience in the digital security space for civil society.
